The Program Chair and Education Committee are pleased to invite you once again to come together in just a few short weeks. We’ve all adapted over the past 15 months to stay up to date in a variety of manners and this will be no different. Similar to the Fall Quarterly last year, the Association will offer these three seminars virtually as live webinars via Zoom should you not want to make the trek to Manchester. The other facets of the day will be omitted from the live stream, including the committee meetings, raffles, auctions, and meals.

Presenter: K O Bisson of Manchester Safety Specialists. K O typically holds an "in the round" presentation featuring basic first aid situations and actions that one might encounter at work, in the home, or at play. Her low-key and engaging manner carry through to make her presentations "Fun ... Engaging ... Educational!" That is an understatement, as her way of drawing in and interacting with the attendees is unique; you will learn a lot. 

FAA Part 107 Certification Overview and Recent Changes in Part 107 Rules and Regulations 
This session will provide a high level overview of the FAA Part 107 certification process, including the requirements to become a commercial drone pilot, the subject topics required to master in order to pass the sUAS aeronautical knowledge exam, and the process for completing an application to receive a commercial remote pilot certificate after passing the knowledge exam. In addition, recent changes in Part 107 will be discussed, regarding specifically, rules and regulations on the implementation of Remote ID,  operating drones over people and moving vehicles, and at night. Lastly, new changes in recurrent knowledge testing will also be covered. 
Presenter: Mark Donovan is the President of Falcon Imagery, a NH based sUAS services company offering professional drone services for residential and commercial real estate, and teaching/consulting services for FAA Part 107 certification. Mark holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. He is also a licensed commercial manned pilot and a Certified Flight Instructor (CFII), and is a Mission Pilot and Flight Instructor/Checkpilot with the NH Wing Civil Air Patrol. He is also a Part 107 certified remote pilot.  Mark is also a Senior Marketing and Business Development Manager for ams OSRAM AG, and has 30+ years of engineering and marketing experience in the areas of magnetic sensing, projected lighting, radar signal processing and telecom/Datacom. 

Least squares analysis in solving 2021 ALTA Relative Positional Precision Standards 
The use of least squares is often a difficult subject in much of the surveying world because it uses math that we are not familiar with, or it is math we stared at long ago in a surveying class and worked hard to forget.  We need to become comfortable with its use and learn that it can enhance our abilities in surveying.  The seminar will start with real total station data and how it is simple to analyze a least squares report.  Next GNSS network adjustment results will be examined.  The least squares component of the 2021 ALTA/NSPS standards will next be examined as a standard most surveyors at some point need to deal with.  The concepts of relative vs. absolute error ellipses vs. distance error between computed points and how 95% confidence is achieved will be themes throughout the discussion using the ALTA standard as an example.  Suggestions for passing such standards by predicting error ellipses for normal survey situations will be presented.  The seminar is very question/answer oriented.

The Foundation is in the process of creating a new education fund, the Robert G. Moynihan Education Fund. During the social, the Foundation will explain the intent of this new fund and how it is to be initially funded; with the sale of the gifted equipment from the Thompson School. A few pieces of equipment will be at the Event Center for a raffle and hopefully a quick but lively auction will take place when a more desirable piece or two go up for bid.
