How are drones transforming surveying? Join Tom Range, managing partner and COO of Air-Terra 3D LLC for this lecture and outdoor demonstration on unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) or drones (also known as unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs). Discussion topics include:
Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) new small drone rule - known as Part 107 - became effective on August 29, 2016. We'll discuss this rule and what happened to the Section 333 exemption grant in use by some firms
Then, we'll step outside for some demonstration flights with data collection, small data set workflow, and how you process data.
Tom Range, Air-Terra 3D LLC
Tom Range is the managing partner and COO of Air-Terra 3D LLC, a UAS/UAV Lockheed Martin reseller and services provider located in Meredith, New Hampshire. Mr. Range spent the last year with a national distribution company as their UAS/UAV manager promoting, selling and training customers on the Lockheed Martin product. With a background in civil engineering and surveying prior to focusing on UAS/UAV technology Mr. Range had been promoting the latest survey/engineering technologies in New England for the prior 17 years with a major GPS/equipment automation supplier.

Registration fees are $200/person for MALSCE members and $250/person for non-members. See form for details. Registration fee includes a continental breakfast, two snack breaks, lunch and all seminar handouts. Registration is processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
