Paul J. Tyrell, PE, PLS, was named the recipient of MALSCE's prestigious 2020 Surveyor of the Year Award during the Virtual 2021 MALSCE Convention’s Annual Meeting. This award is annually presented to a professional land surveyor who has provided outstanding leadership for the profession.
The MALSCE Awards Committee, which selected the Surveyor of the Year, was chaired by Dana Standley from BSC Group, Inc., and comprised of fellow past Surveyor of the Year Award winners Sean Ewald from BSC Group, Inc., Paul Foley from Feldman Land Surveyors, and Ian Wisuri from Beals and Thomas, Inc.
The Committee selected Paul in appreciation of his outstanding leadership in the profession as a member and chair of the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and as a member of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying Board of Directors. Through exemplary service he has had a lasting impact on MALSCE members and the local, regional, and national land surveying communities.
The tradition of selecting a Surveyor of the Year dates back to MALSCE’s early days and gives the association the opportunity to honor and thank a leader who has been exemplary for his or her service to MALSCE, the profession and the community. You can see the names of the past award recipients on the MALSCE website.
Congratulations, Paul!
