This one day seminar is intended for surveying technicians who wish to expand their understanding in the area of boundary law and records research. This seminar will introduce the basic terminology and concepts of boundary law necessary to perform basic boundary research. Basic approaches to research (why and how) will also be explained so that attendees will be prepared to not only perform basic research but be able to critically analyze their research for completeness. This seminar is not intended for practicing Land Surveyors nor is it intended to meet continuing education requirements for practicing Land Surveyors.
This seminar is part one of a two-part series for survey technicians. Depending upon your level of expertise, these seminars can be taken individually or as a pair. The second session will be held in December, entitled “Basic Boundary Determination Principles for Surveying Technicians.” Building on Part I, this one day seminar will introduce attendees to how research, boundary law and field work are synthesized by Land Surveyors to arrive at defensible boundary determinations. Look for registration details in the fall of 2016.
