On Thursday, May 30, 2024, MALSCE, ACEC/MA and BSCES members gathered at the Massachusetts State House for our Annual Engineers and Land Surveyors Day at the State House along with leaders from other engineering and design-related associations.
Even if you couldn't join us on May 30, we need your help.
Action Requested in June:
1. Please reach out to your Massachusetts State Senator and Massachusetts State Representative, based on where you live and vote.
2. Ask their office staff when the legislator will have local office hours in your community in the next few weeks. These are often at the library, senior center, or community center for a couple of hours each month. These times are great opportunities to print out the issue briefing sheets, introduce yourself and your professional role, and discuss the issues. You are building bridges to them for future discussions.
3. Go to the local office hours with your business cards (write the name of your hometown on them), and the briefing sheets. Then, introduce yourself and discuss the issues.
Here is the resource page on the issue briefing sheets we used on May 30. You can print them out and bring them with you to these informal local meetings. This page also has background information for you: https://www.engineers.org/about/news/briefing-materials-for-engineers-and-land-surveyors-day-at-the-state-house-5593
4. If you have questions about the issue briefing sheets or the background resources, please reach out to Abbie Goodman
